Slack Wax

Slack waxes are minimally refined high oil products. They are derived from lubricating oils and often find applications \"as they are\" with relatively high oil content, or are further processed to produce more refined waxes. Slack wax is a mixture of oil and wax, a by-product from the refining of lubricating oil. Generic term for the mixture of wax and oil recovered in a de-waxing process; may contain 2 - 35% oil. Slack waxes range from 105°F to 150°F in melting point, and their oil content ranges from 5.0% to as much as 35%.

Slack wax is the crude wax produced by chilling and solvent filter-pressing wax distillate. There are basically two types of slack wax produced, Heavy Slack Wax and Light Slack Wax

Slack waxes are widely used in the production of wax emulsions, construction board, matches, candles, rust protective products and moisture vapour barriers.
